Kee Hughes is a Black and Puerto Rican journalist and former soccer  player (16 years of experience). She is versatile and enjoys being able  to take on various tasks within but not limited to the field of  Communications.
Native  of Los Angeles, CA Kee was raised single-handed by her mother, and is  the oldest out of six children (3 boys and 3 girls).  She credits her  younger siblings as the forceful drive behind her positive focus, and  her mother for giving her the gift of gab.
In  2003 her high achievements in the sport of soccer granted her the  opportunity to receive a full ride scholarship to play for and attend  Southern, an NCAA Division-1 university in Baton Rouge, LA. 
During  her college years she traveled all over America, and parts of Mexico  and Europe playing soccer and doing spoken word poetry. 
In  spring 2007 after graduating with both her Bachelor of Science  (Psychology) and Bachelor of Arts (Mass Communications), Kee decided to  move back to Los Angeles and utilize her Mass Communications degree to  the fullest.  
She has worked for companies such as blackcollegewire.com,  Digest News, ESPN College Sports, Times-Picayune, New York Times  Journalism Institute, Vibe, BET online, On Wax Magazine, Curve Magazine,  Etc, MF Comics, The Los Angles Recording School, Human Rights Campaign,  Lincoln Child Center (for disadvantaged youth).  etc. 
Kee moved to San Francisco during the summer of 2008. She is currently involved in several creative arts projects. 
Presently,  Kee is pursuing her Masters of Arts degree in Entertainment Business  along with a Sports elective track at Full Sail University. She is the  CEO & Founder of, ROOTS in CONCRETE, a creative group for  underrepresented artists. 
During  her spare time she likes to write, read, and challenge herself to  become more knowledgeable, "Challenge intrigues and inspires me to learn  inimitable resolutions. The action of resolving hard problems not only  gives an exceptional method of gaining information but also allows me to  get an unfathomable feeling of dignity and contentment, " she said. 
Kee  is the Program Manager for America Scores Bay Area, “I’m honored to  work with Scores. Each day I am encouraged to improve my learning and  harvest insightful edeavors, in the form of communication and cultural  distinctiveness. While being involved, I am having fun in the two areas I  love, Soccer and Literature,” she said. 
Being  from a low-income environment herself, she never ceases the need for  enlightenment within education, sports, and creative arts. 
The  quote that she lives and runs her company, Roots in Concrete by is a  personal one, “In order to become that beautiful red rose, we must never  forget our ROOTS nor the thorns that pushed us through the CONCRETE!”
